On March 2, 2010, Postmaster General Jack Potter announced a plan that is intended to ensure the long-term viability of the Postal Service in a changing marketplace. The plan, entitled Ensuring a Viable Postal Service for America - An Action Plan for the Future and its supporting documentation consume nearly 300 pages of text, graphs, and source notes.
As with past announcements from the Postal Service, the major media outlets have focused on one major issue; the Postal Service’s desire to change to five-day delivery. In fact, the Postal Service’s comprehensive plan involves much more than seeking a change to five-day delivery.
Lake Michigan Mailers has attempted to boil down this plan to its simplest form while maintaining the accuracy of the information provided. Our presentation is offered in the popular question and answer format and is designed to be a reference for our customers and can be downloaded by clicking here.
It is still too early to determine if this plan will directly impact our customers or the services we offer. We are committed to providing our customers with unbiased, current, relevant and accurate information. Additional information will be provided as events warrant. |
